Korean Beef (Bul Gogi)

1 lb beef flank steak or top round steak
2 tablespoons sliced green onion
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon cooking oil
½ teaspoon sugar
1 clove garlic, minced
1/8 teaspoon bottled hot pepper sauce


  • Partially freeze beef.
  • Thinly slice across the grain into bite-size strips.
  • In bowl combine onion, soy sauce, oil, sugar, garlic and hot pepper sauce.
  • Add beef strips, tossing to coat.
  • Let stand 30 minuites at room temperature, stirring once or twice.
  • Grill on stove top grill about 5 minutes, turning once.
  • Serve with Soy Dipping Sauce.
