Author a Myth MPG on to a DVD

Remove the commercials from the program:

/usr/bin/mythtranscode --showprogress --profile autodetect -c <channel> -s <date-time> --mpeg2 --honorcutlist --outfile filename.mpg
Use nuvexport --debug to get the program settings for the <channel> and <date-time> values

Convert to proper MPG format for dvdauthor:

ffmpeg -i filename.mpg -target ntsc-dvd -aspect 4:3 yourmovie.mpg
To make smaller files, try a slower video bit rate, using the "-b" option. I was able to fit almost 4 hours of video onto a 4.7GB DVD with "-b 2000k", with some significant image degradation, although it was still useful enough for that disk's purpose. (2000k may be the slowest possible standards-compliant bit rate.)

Use KDE DVDAuthor Wizard to build the menus, author and burn the DVD.
